Thing One
Meet my new favorite band. I got turned on to them through another snazzy group, Ra Ra Riot. Thing One creates a sound representing the perfect union between dance and rock. Keep your eyes open for a new single, "Move It," coming to their MySpace page soon. Joey from Thing One tells me that he feels it's their strongest song yet. The band has already put out a couple discs and the track I'm featuring today is from their latest EP.

EPO-555
If you're feeling a little let down over the latest album from Billy Corgan and company, check out this track from EPO-555. It reminds me of a path I wish SP would have continued with. This Danish crew was just in Boston and NYC for a little tour celebrating their signing to Rykodisc. Hopefully they'll be back soon and make a stop in DC! Highly recommended if you enjoy bands like Mew.

I love the paragraph before Sean Wilde's bio on his MySpace page. "Pop music today is a colostomy bag, and Sean Wilde would like to burp it for you. God forbid it explodes all over your leggings, you wry thing." I like to imagine it being read by Stewie from Family Guy. With that being said, I am obsessed with the four songs I have from this mysterious man. Note to Mr. Wilde: I need more.

Cat-A-Tac

Roddy Woomble
Dan and all other Idlewild lovers rejoice! Roddy Woomble has shared some solo material with the world. How great is that name of his? Just rolls off the tongue. My Secret Is My Silence wasn't going to see a release dates in the States, but the good people over at 7-10 Music decided we need to hear it too. Be glad they did. This record has more of a country kick than most of the Idlewild stuff, but fans will still appreciate its sincerity.
