I arrived in L.A. today for the 7th Annual Film and TV Music Conference, taking place tomorrow and Friday. The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard join forces to deliver a cutting-edge, two-day seminar on the role of music in film and television. The event provides a dynamic forum for the exchange of ideas among film, TV and music professionals. Besides "The Wrestler" Aronofsky and Mansell have worked together on three films, including 1998's "Pi," 2000's "Requiem For a Dream" and 2006's "The Fountain," for which Mansell-once the lead singer and guitarist of British band Pop Will Eat Itself-received a Golden Globe nomination for best original score.

Presentation of Maestro Award
Hans Zimmer's journey to the top of the film music world has been extraordinary. Moving effortlessly from challenging, provocative material like Ridley Scott's "Blackhawk Down," to lighthearted romantic comedies like Nancy Meyer's "Something's Gotta Give," global blockbusters like the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise and animated fare like this year's “Madagascar 2" and 1994's "The Lion King," for which he took home a Best Original Score Oscar. In the last 12 months he's composed the music for "Batman: The Dark Knight," the animated hit "Kung Fu Panda" and the highly-anticipated "Frost/Nixon. The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard will present Zimmer with its inaugural Maestro Award for his tireless commitment to excellence that continues to place him in a league of his own.
